Located in the rolling hills of the North Yorkshire countryside close to the the village of Middleham. Spigot lodge is ideally situated between Middleham's high and low moor gallops. There is a seven furlong uphill polytrack and a four furlong warm-up track as well as a grass gallop on Low Moor. High Moor has a one mile four furlongs carpet gallop as well as some superb grass gallops, with a set of stalls leading out onto one of the grass gallops. The yard comprises of 130 stables, 6 horse walkers - Three lunge pens that are situated in the centre of a one furlong floodlit exercise ring. This facility proves invaluable during the breaking and backing of our yearlings. One and half furlong covered ride, perfect for the wet and cold winter months. Six wash bays with high pressure hoses, excellent for keeping legs clean in winter and washing horses down on warm summer days. Vet room and Solarium. Several post and rail grass paddocks and cages, for turnout during the summer and an all year round turn out pit. These excellent facilities can only enhance our horses chances on the racetrack.
Located in the scenic North Yorkshire countryside surrounding the village of Sheriff Hutton. Mick Easterby's training facilities are extensive and well-maintained, the facilities include access to gallops, horse walkers (indoor and outdoor), ample stabling for horses and access to top class veterinary services. They have access to gallops of different surfaces, depths and gradients. These gallops emulate the all weather tracks of Lingfield Park and Chelmsford City and also varying conditions on traditional grass surfaces. The stiff uphill gallops provide a testing workout for the horses and are important in building up stamina so they are never found wanting at the end of their races! Giving our horses a good workout ensures they arrive at the racecourse race fit and ready to run!
